临城拥有以岐山湖、子龙湖为代表的淡水湖泊20余个，水资源丰富。岐山湖是国家大Ⅱ型水库，蓄水量1.76亿立方米，水面10平方公里，水质为二级饮用水（可直接饮用）。湖区景色四季如画，春日紫燕衔泥、凌波倩影；夏日岸柳滴翠、水鸟啾鸣；秋日鸭鹭翔栖、水天一色；冬季万里飘雪，银装素裹。岐山湖景区已发展成为省会石家庄高级度假商务中心。
