唐代北方邢州所烧造的白瓷与南方越州所烧造的青瓷，以“南青北白”著称于世。邢窑是唐代烧造瓷器的著名窑场。烧造时间长达600余年。邢窑遗址为全国重点文物保护单位。邢窑产品闻名遐迩，品种繁多。邢窑白瓷，庄重大方。雍容华贵，造型优美，做工精细，堪称瓷中精品，古人称赞它“类雪”“类银”，“圆似月魂，轻如月魄”。邢瓷对我国陶瓷艺术产生了深远的影响。2009年中国首届“邢窑研讨会”在临城召开，中国古陶瓷学会会长耿宝昌先生亲临大会，并为中国首家邢窑博物馆题写了“中国邢窑博物馆”馆名。
